Where does the name Hotel Haus am Zoo originate from ?

The Hotel Haus am Zoo is indeed in the so-called "zoo area," but : where is the zoo?

The explanation dates back to long ago:

There was actually a zoo located in the district in past years. The zoological garden was founded by the zoologist Alfred Brehm, in 1876. He also gave his name to the street Brehmstrasse. However during the Second World War, in 1943, the zoo was completely destroyed. In 1951 the area was rebuilt to the zoo park that exists today, but only as a park – not a zoo.

The area Düsseltal has became a more and more exclusive borough of Düsseldorf.

So this is why we named our Hotel -Hotel Haus am Zoo!!!
